it was against the law, it was against the law!

I think I started off on the wrong foot with my outfit posts. Although I do love my vintage, girly dresses and lovely flowing skirts, my fashion origins are very heavily rooted in a more dirty, rock inspired place. Secretly, I want nothing more than to dress like Alison Mosshart or some other fantastic rockstar every day but I still want to look like myself instead of just a clone or a cheap knock-off. My constant task is trying to blend all of my fashion tastes into one delicious vat of style.

I think this outfit is a very good start. I have my girly, flowing white dress on top of a black and white striped scoop neck tank and a pair of black shorts. I think the sheerness of the dress is the perfect balance of sexiness and softness. Together with the necklace, boots and vest it really transforms from super feminine to womanly with a punch.

What I'm Wearing:
Scoop Neck Tank: UNIQLO soho.
Shorts: A left-over from my dancer days.
Dress: Thrifted, Originally from India.
Vest: Marshall's.
Boots: Macy's.
Necklace: Vintage, Mom's jewelry box.

What I'm Listening To:
"Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard" Paul Simon

    - I know exactly what you mean! I struggle so much with this because sometimes I get it into my head that I need to stick with a particular style before once again realizing that I can in fact wear what I want and that I don't actually need to restrict myself at all! I don't know if that makes any sense at all.. I'd love for you to link Hello Mr Fox, that is after all my original blog. I will of course link you back :)

  2. When I do finally get that perfect, cohesive look that combines all your favorite styles together, I don't think there are very many other things that make me as happy as that.

    Linked you, by the by.
